Missha perfect cover BB cream - review

Missha is an Asian brand, and this BB cream is one of their most well known products. It's sold by many sellers on eBay, but with pretty much the same price tag everywhere. Often the seller will include samples of other Asian products, just like I received with my order.

Missha Perfect Cover BB cream comes in 5 different shades, which is a lot compared to other BB creams which are "one shade fits all". I ordered shade 13 which is the lightest and shade 21 which is the second lightest.

(L to R - shade 13, shade 21)

The swatches does look very different and shade 21 looks a lot darker than shade 13, but there's not a noticeable difference when it's blended into the skin.

The shade range makes it easier for people of various skin tones to use this BB cream, and it is by far the best BB cream I have ever tried! It covers imperfections very well, layers well and when set with a powder it stays matte but still "skin like" all day long on my combo/ oily complexion. I do have some dry patches and this BB cream sits very nicely over them, since it is very moisturizing.

It has an SPF of 42 and PA+++ which is perfect for summer! It feels light on the skin and looks more natural than a foundation but still manages to offer light to medium coverage.

If you are in doubt of the perfect shade for you, there's tons of swatches to find online, and on Youtube, and if you're still in doubt, small samples can be bought on eBay for very little money.

OOTD - Girly and edgy

Today the weather was nice but the wind was kinda cold so I decided to cover up a bit more. The sheer shirt is quite feminine with the lace print so to balance it out a bit I paired it with a faux leather skirt. And to add to the cuteness I wore my kitty cat flats.

Shirt: Warehouse (bought on Asos - Romwe has the same shirt just cheaper!)

Skirt: Primark

Kitty cat flats: eBay

These flats are a bit small in size, so consider going a size up if your looking to buy a pair of these. Lots of different sellers carry these but they vary in price, so look for a top rated seller with a low price - I paid about £8 for mine.

Meitu - Best photo app!

Meitu is a Chinese photo editing app which recently got translated into English to be more user-friendly around the world. I started using this app while it was still in Chinese, but overall there's pictures for everything and it's easy to navigate.

This app is like Photoshop on your phone! And the best part? - it's FREE!

The possibilities are endless - you have the tools to make your eyes larger, correct dark circles, smooth the skin, cover spots, and even a tool to slim your body. This app also offers auto retouch with several auto retouched options to choose from. These retouches will have everything - filters, smoother skin, smaller chin, larger eyes and so on, but it all looks pretty natural.

You can of course over do it with an app like this, but small changes look quite natural. To make sure your photo looks as good as possible there's is a compare button in the right top corner. This will show you the difference between the original photo and the photo with your changes, which is very handy.

The app also offers a Bokeh setting and several frames and filters. Plus I've heard that this is Kendall Jenners preferred editing app, - can't hurt to try it right?

Healthy living

Healthy living isn't just about eating right and exercising a lot. At least it isn't for me. It's about surrounding myself with people I care about, easy cooking and lovely smelling flowers (among other things).

My sister and I went for a walk in the lovely spring weather and came across these amazing Lilacs by the train rails. We got a handful each and went home to arrange them.

For dinner we went with something easy - tuna mixed with cremefraiche, a red onion and a squeeze of lemon juice, with a side of mashed avocado with salt, pepper and lemon juice and a handful of shrimps and a little sprinkle of peas and a couple pieces of bread - YUM!

For dessert we washed and cut up some strawberries, pineapple, apricots and pomegranate.

I love how simple everything is yet it's still very tasty and good for you at the same time. This was the perfect meal to keep me full and refreshed on a hot spring day.

FOTD - good skin day

For the past 2 years my skin has been so bad that I haven't felt comfortable going out in public without foundation and concealer on my face. A few days ago my skin cleared up completely (more on that story in a future blog post) and I decided that this was the perfect time to wear minimal makeup and feel good about it.

Complexion:
Maybelline FIT me concealer - Fair 15
Bobbi Brown corrector - Light Bisque
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder - Diffused Light

Cheeks:
Maxfactor Miracle Touch Cream Blush - Soft Pink

Brows:
Housglass Brow Sculpting Pencil - Blonde

Eyes:
L'Oreal Miss Manga - Black

Lips:
Revlon Lip Butter - Sweet Tart

It was nice not having to worry about my makeup smudging or caking and just relax and enjoy the day and the people around me.

Una Brennan Cleansing Oil - Review

If you can't tell from the above picture this is the Una Brennan Super Facialist Vitamin C+ Brighten Cleansing Oil. That's a mouthful. This line can be found at Boots - as far as I know they do ship certain items worldwide.

I use this oil after I've taken my makeup off withe some Bioderma, because I don't like the feeling of smearing makeup all around my face. The oil has a citrus like scent but honestly it smells like dish washing soap in my opinion. Scent aside it is a nice cleanser and after taking it off with a damp washcloth there's no oily residue on your skin.

A little goes a long way with this product. I've been using this bottle for weeks and it still looks full! I think this oil would be a good place to start if you haven't tried an oil cleanser before, since it is a drugstore product and will last you a long time.

This oil cleanser didn't break me out and leaves my skin softly and smooth. I can't say if it has brightened my skin or not, but I would definitely recommend this cleanser for all skin types.

DIY - Doily lamp

What you will need:

Balloon (I used a big latex baloon from ebay)
Wallpaper paste
Vaseline
Doilies (you need more than you think!)

Blow up your balloon to your preferred size and cover it in Vaseline, this will prevent your doilies sticking to the balloon in the end. Cover each doily with wallpaper paste on both sides - the more the better since the paste is what will make your doilies keep their shape. To make work easier I placed the balloon on a bucket so it wouldn't roll around, and I worked in sections - first the top half (remember to leave space for the light bulb) and lastly the bottom half. Each doily have to overlap the ones around it, this will ensure that the structure will be more sturdy and lessen the risk of the lamp collapsing. I gave each overlap an extra coat of paste to make sure it had maximum hold.

Let the lamp dry for a couple days. I had mine sitting for weeks, this made the balloon shrink just a bit and made it easier to separate the doilies from the balloon. Pop the balloon and your lamp is done!

Perfume Collection

I don't have a lot of perfumes, but I love the ones I have! I'm mostly attracted to fruity floral scents, and pretty bottles obviously.

From left to right:

Jo Malone - Orange Blossom: A very floral perfume. The scent is strong when first applied, but lingers for only an hour or so on me. A very true orange blossom scent in my opinion.

Marc Jacobs - Daisy Eau So Fresh: A sweet and floral scent. Very girly and fresh perfume, perfect for the spring and summer time. This lingers all day on me and is not too strong - it's just right!

Yves Saint Laurent - Cinema: This scent is more heavy and "adult". I use this mostly at night when I go out, or in the wintertime because This scent has a warmth too it that makes it nice for cooler weather. The scent is strong and stays on all day.

Valentino - Valentina: Another girly, sweet and floral scent. This perfume has a more "sophisticated" feel to it than the So Fresh perfume. Nice scent, stays on all day and isn't too strong.
